Welcome to my world. Won’t you come on in?
LimeCake is a 20something year old, born and raised in Southeast Asia, and now lives and works in Melbourne, Australia. She lives on her own and typically cooks for one. It both expands and limits her cooking horizon at the same time.
If you’re looking for recipes with 20 million ingredients in it, you’re in the wrong place. Life is complicated enough. You’re also not going to find any food props or styling – what you see is exactly how she eats her food. Through this site, you’ll see her ardour towards food and her simple style of cooking by ways of her personality and heritage, juxtaposed against the incredible smörgåsbord that is Melbourne.
LimeCake’s food philosophy is this: always buy the best you can afford. Simple food doesn’t mean compromising on quality or flavour. Every opportunity to eat is a potential for something great.
She jumps at any chance to cook or bake, and truly loves so much about food, always planning her next meal, and the meal after that, and the meal after that.
LimeCake is for all things “made from scratch”. She is determined to make her own wedding cake if/when she gets married. She loves food shopping – any other kind of shopping can go to hell. She also loves a good espresso (straight up), anchovies, dark chocolate, thin-crust pizzas, frozen yogurt, chunky peanut butter, mint ice cream, her grandma’s cooking and homemade pancakes – her own, of course. But her absolute favourite food, is durian. She’s Asian, can you really blame her?

I totally agree–any other type of shopping can go to hell! I’ll take a grocery store trip rather than a mall trip any day!

Hello LimeCake. I just discovered your blog and I think you have a beautiful “space” here. I browsed through your recipes and there’s already about 10 I want to make.
I love this “made from scratch” approach. It’s the same one I have. I will be visiting you again!

Hi Limecake,
Your recipes are so comforting and delicious, and the pictures are great.
About the shopping thing…I can kinda identify; I don’t like restaurants (except a few that are too expense for a regular basis anyway) because I have too much fun making my own food at home:).
